Navigation

Learn how to navigate Clarix — sidebar, breadcrumbs, search, and the context-sensitive help panel.

Navigation

Clarix uses a sidebar-first navigation model. Everything in the platform is reachable from the left sidebar, and most pages include breadcrumbs and contextual sub-navigation to help you stay oriented.

The main sidebar runs down the left side of the screen and is always visible. It organizes Clarix into its core modules:

SectionWhat it contains
DashboardReal-time facility overview
FormulasMaster Formula authoring and versioning
BatchesBatch catalog, execution, and imports
InventoryItems, lots, vendors, and receiving
QualityDeviations, CAPAs, document control
EquipmentAsset registry, calibration, PM logs
TrainingPlans, assignments, and compliance
EnvironmentalEM schedules, samples, and results
ReportsBatch analytics, yield, 483-readiness
Audit TrailImmutable log of every system action
LabelsPrint and manage lot labels
SettingsSystem configuration and admin

Click any sidebar item to navigate to that module. The currently active section is highlighted.

Context-sensitive sub-navigation

Some modules expand to show sub-items in the sidebar when you are inside that module. Sub-navigation items appear automatically based on where you are.

Organization switcher

If you are a member of more than one facility (multi-site), the Organization Switcher appears at the top of the sidebar. It shows your currently active facility name.

  1. Click the organization name to open the switcher dropdown.
  2. Select a different facility from the list.
  3. The entire application reloads with that facility's data and your role for that site.

Your role and permissions may differ between sites. After switching organizations, check the top of the page to confirm the correct facility is active before performing any actions.

User menu

Your user avatar or initials appear at the bottom of the sidebar. Click it to open the user menu with options:

  • Theme — Switch between Light, Dark, and System (follows your OS setting)
  • Settings — Open your personal account settings (display name, password)
  • Sign out — End your current session

Detail pages (a specific batch, formula, inventory item, or deviation) display a breadcrumb trail below the page header. Breadcrumbs show you exactly where you are in the navigation hierarchy and let you click back to any parent page.

Example breadcrumb trail:

Batches → BN-2026-0001 → Components

Click any breadcrumb segment to jump back to that level.

Use Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux) to open the global search bar from anywhere in the application. You can also click the search icon in the sidebar.

Search works across:

  • Batch numbers and formula names
  • Inventory item names and lot numbers
  • Equipment IDs and names
  • Deviations and CAPA numbers
  • Staff names

Type at least 2 characters to see results. Click a result to navigate directly to that record.

Help panel

A Help button is fixed to the bottom-right corner of every page. Click it to open the context-sensitive Help Panel.

The Help Panel automatically opens to the tab that matches the module you are currently viewing:

  • On a Batch page → opens the Batches help tab
  • On a Formula page → opens the Formulas help tab
  • On the Dashboard → opens the Getting Started tab

Inside the Help Panel you will find:

  • Step-by-step instructions for the current module
  • Explanations of key concepts (lifecycle states, step types, etc.)
  • Examples using the demo data in your system
  • Links to related modules

The Help Panel slides in from the right and does not interrupt your current workflow. Click anywhere outside it to close it, or click the × button.
