See how Clarix presents different modules and priorities to Technicians, QA Officers, and the PIC — same platform, role-tailored workflows.
Clarix hides modules and actions you are not permitted to perform, but each role also sees different operational priorities on the dashboard and in daily workflows. These screenshots show the same underlying data through three common 503B lenses.
Compounding Technician
Technicians live on the shop floor — executing batches, scanning materials, and recording measurements.
Typical technician focus:
- In Progress batches assigned to them
- Step execution table with barcode scan and measurement entry
- Inventory receiving (with permission)
- Training assignments due
Technicians cannot approve formulas, release batches, or close deviations.
QA Officer
QA Officers review completed work, investigate quality events, and approve batches for PIC release.
Typical QA focus:
- Batches Pending QA review
- Deviations, CAPAs, and OOS investigations
- Lot release from quarantine
- Environmental excursions
QA approval moves a batch to Awaiting PIC — the final release step requires the Pharmacist-in-Charge.
Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)
The PIC holds final regulatory authority — formula approval, batch release, and system configuration.
Typical PIC focus:
- Master formula approval and publishing
- Final batch release with facility PIN
- Batch Record Layout approval
- Staff qualifications and high-level reports

Role requirements
Roles are assigned by an Admin under Administration → Users. A user may hold multiple roles; Clarix applies the union of permitted actions. See Roles and Permissions for the full matrix of all 15 Clarix roles.
Regulatory reference
21 CFR 211.22 — Quality control unit responsibilities must be clearly defined. Role-based views enforce separation of duties — production staff execute, QA independently reviews, and the PIC provides final pharmacist oversight.
