Production Lines

Configure the manufacturing production lines your 503B facility operates — name, code, and active status for batch scheduling and reporting.

The Production Lines settings page lets administrators define which manufacturing lines your facility runs. Each production line is a named, coded configuration record that identifies a physical or logical compounding line — for example, "ISO 7 Suite A", "Non-Sterile Line 2", or "High-Volume Filler Line".

Role required: Administrator only. Production line changes are recorded in the audit trail.

Production line fields

FieldDescription
NameHuman-readable name displayed in batch assignment and reports (e.g., "Suite A — ISO 7")
CodeShort unique code for quick reference and imports (e.g., "SUITE-A", "NS-02")
ActiveWhen enabled, the line is available for new batch assignments. Inactive lines are hidden from selection but retained for historical records.

When to configure production lines

Set up production lines during initial system configuration or whenever your facility adds, renames, or decommissions a compounding area. Accurate line configuration supports:

  • Batch scheduling and assignment by physical location
  • Yield and throughput reporting segmented by line
  • Capacity planning across multiple suites or fill lines

Managing production lines

  1. Navigate to Settings → Production Lines.
  2. Review the list of configured lines.
  3. Click Add line to create a new record, or click an existing line to edit its name, code, or active status.
  4. Click Save.

Note: Deactivating a line does not affect batches already assigned to that line. Historical batch records retain their production line reference permanently.
